Scholastic changed "curse" to "murder" in the US version of the book 
(the UK version reads "curse").  That one more curse was placing the 
Imperius Curse on Mad-Eye Moody.  By changing that one word, 
Scholastic has confused this for millions of fans!

The Lexicon has pages with all of the US-UK differences, btw.
