I recommend turning off images for the browser when your child uses it.
If you do that, while they may see some obscene words if they
accidentally go to a porn site, they won't have obscene pictures right
in their face.
Of course, there are limitations to this - and if someone knows of a
program that won't load images unless you click reload or some specific
button of sorts, then I'd love to know about it. It's a potential
market, I think, for such a program - for people who want pages to load
more quickly as well as those who want to avoid pornographic images
without actually overblocking.
