I got the Lupin Sr. thought as well!  Actually, a lot of it reminded me of Lupin.  Same color hair, we don't really know Lupin's eye color, and in the movies, Lupin uses a cane after full moon.  (Goes nicely with the limp and the foreshadowing comments, huh?)

I also thought of Dumbledore when he was younger, but aren't his eyes blue?  I forget.

And, of course, there's teh new DADA teacher.  (Now, THAT could be fun.  What if Lupin Sr. was teaching DADA?)

actually it was me that suggested Lupin senior. Jason thought of Godric Gryffindor. 

A bit of me really wants Remus back at Hogwarts but I agree, his father would be great fun. He sounds pretty regal if we're right. I wonder how he would get along with Snape?
