The trouble is that since the Home page specifically says that this 
list is for off-topic discussions, it's unlikely that very many 
people on this site will be interested in participating in a canon-
based thread.  Although it may seem to be a bit more comfortable to 
post in a smaller group, it's lots more fun to get some feedback 
when you bring up a topic and that's much more likely on the main 
list.  I'd hate for anyone new to the lists to post here and get no 
response to a canon topic that may be of great interest to the 
larger community.  I know I hate it when no one responds to *my* 
posts :-).
