GG, and JKR just decided the Wizarding World had spectacles before the
rest of the world. It could be the new DADA teacher. It could be the
new Minister of Magic. It could be a lot of people, but that's how
(at least I) formed the theory that one of the people it -could- be
was Lupin's dad.

Although, I can't recall where it was or in which book, Lupin's Mother
has been mentioned before; it was, however, a very indirect/in-passing
mention went something like, 'Lupin was staying at his mother's
house'. That's not a direct quote, but reflects the 'gist' of what was
said.

I suspect that if Lupin father were alive, the reference paraphrased
above would have been to Lupin's parent's house rather than his
mother's house.

While there has been no mention of Lupin's father, some speculate
about the briefcase that Lupin carried, which had in peeling gold
letters - 'Professor R.J. Lupin' imprinted on it. Since Lupin is
relatively young, people question how he could already be a professor.
Among the many speculation to explain this was that the briefcase
belonged to his father.

My personal theory regarding the 'Professor' lettering on the case has
been that Lupin's mother (since she was mentioned) encouraged him to
make good use of his time since he wasn't able to work. So she
encouraged him to study and better himself. Through study, academic
research, and published academic papers, Lupin was able to gain
recognition and the title of 'Professor'. This is part of my theory on
continuing education after Howarts theory.

The new lion-man or lion-like character could be related to an
existing character, or the new DADA teacher, or the new Potions
teacher (assuming Snape takes the DADA position), the Half Blood
Prince, or the new Minister of Magic (for Fudge will surely be gone).

I would lean more toward the new DADA teacher or the new Potions
teacher, myself.

Regardless of who he is, the 'Lion Man' sounds like a very interesting
character.

Just a few thoughts.
