This is my first post to this list and I am a little nervous about it given
all the back and forth on appropriateness, but what the heck. If I mess up,
come on and get me.;-) I must say, I do appreciate the flow on this list
more than the main list. There was always too much going on, too many
threads to follow. I don't have time to research for hours and back read
for days. If I did, however, I might not have to ask this question.

Where is it said for a fact that this "grumpy old man" so familiar to Harry
is Aberforth?
I like your theory about Godric, especially point #4; however, I think I
read somewhere that JKR dismisses Godric coming back as he is long dead. I
believe her comment was directed to the connection between Godric Hollow,
the Potter family, etc. way before the announcement of the Half-Blood Prince
title. I could be mistaken. As for his heir, I am for it. Someone on this
list (I think--too many lists) said Albus is Godric's heir. Is this a
theory or a fact that I missed? If true, Aberforth could very well be the
HBP or Albus Dumbledore himself could let us into his sorted history. ;-)
