Glad to find another who has read and enjoyed it; well done, you.
I've not read anything else of his, though.
Thanks for the recommendation of Jeanette Winterson, too. I've heard
the name, but not read anything by her. I'm currently looking for a
new author to read, so I'll follow that one up.

Yes! I've not read Tom Robbins for some time now, but I remember
being very taken with his books when I first picked them up about
fifteen years ago. I'd say I've enjoyed "Jitterbug Perfume" the most
of all his books (the olfactory theme again!), but don't remember
quite WHY now. As I say, it has been a while. I have to say that I
became a little bored with old Mr Robbins once "Half Asleep in Frog
Pyjamas" came out.... found myself thinking, "Now, haven't I been here
before?" He didn't seem to be really enjoying it the way I sensed he
did earlier on. I think there's been something of his released in the
last few years, hasn't there?
Thanks again for the recommendations.
Love your user name, by the way, HumanTupperware. I'm pleased to tell
you, in my Suburban way, that my fellow citizens have made Australia
the number one purchaser of Tupperware in the world. That our
population is merely one tenth of that of the United States makes the
fact fan the flames of patriotism ever more strongly. But still, it
would be a flinty heart indeed that isn't moved by an air-tight lid in
colours themed for your busy modern lifestyle, wouldn't you say?
Yours,
Burbs
