Wondering why Hogwart's students don't gain weight?

Answer: Large 8 story** building with 16 story** (best guess) Towers
and NO ELEVATORS.

All that walking up and down the stair plus traipsing up and down the
(steeply) sloping lawns, and you are certain to burn a load of
calories each day.

Just a thought.

**Note: The entrance to Gryffindor common room is on the 7th floor by
UK terminology which is the 8th floor in the USA. UK= ground floor,
first floor, etc...; USA= 1st floor, 2nd floor, etc... (although
sometime commercial building have a designated ground floor).

**Note: Gryffindor tower must be at least 14 floors, since the dorm
rooms are round they must cover an entire floor of the tower. That
means 7 floors for the 7 school years of boys, and another 7 for
girls. Plus, I suspect an addition floor each for the boys and girls
bathrooms. Total=16 floor. Just my personal belief, but I think the
Astronomy Tower is probably taller that the Dorm Towers. And, remember
all these rooms have very high ceilings. That makes Hoqwarts the
biggest castle ever build anywhere in the world, or at least in the
muggle world.
