UK teen style

Ok, I really like the teenage actors in the HP movies, but I really
can't stand most of their hairdos and some of the clothes they
where. I realize that being 26 puts me out of the Realm of Hip, but
I haven't noticed very many American teens sporting shaggy dog come
Beatles hair (Rupert Grint, Matthew Lewis, the Phelps Bros.), nor
side ponytails or parts way over on the side of her head, as Emma
Watson wears. I also never seem to like what Emma's wearing, and I
wish Ruperts mum would tell him to put on at least a real T-shirt,
and not something that looks like an old undershirt, for premiers.

I don't expect the kids to be totally proper, or elegant, or
anything. But if I judged the teenage population of the UK based on
the cast of HP, I would think these were the standards of dress.

(Devon Murray has his own kind of "rap singer" look, so I'm really
not sure what to think there.

I do give compliments to the Phelps Bros., who tend to look both cool
and appropriate at premiers and such.

So, somebody tell me, is this what the youth of the UK are really
into?

PS--I also think it's funny how many people in the movies have shaggy
haircuts--Harry's messed up hair being something of a plot point.
