Baby, it's cold outside (and in)!

Columbus, Ohio is digging out after a snow event! I just got power 
back after about 14 hours. We had snow, then lots of ice, then snow. 
Other areas got a lot more snow than we did. One of our suburbs has 
3/4 of the population without power. I think we were very lucky 
because the house temperature got down to about 54 degrees before 
the electric came back (also good insulation helped!). Needless to 
say, I was not thrilled to get in touch with my inner cave woman! I 
looked out in the predawn hours and saw what I thought were 
lightening flashes but I got told later they were lines and 
transformers blowing up. The police couldn't even get their cruisers 
out of the substation - there were pictures of people pushing the 
cruisers out of the snow too!

Hoping others escaped the wrath of Weathermort....
