Bethany:
My husband is really great about my HP obsession (and obsession may
be too light of a term). I keep haranguing him to read the books and
he never does, but other than that, he's really involved. We listen
to the audio books every time we travel. He goes with me on opening
day to every movie (and several times more), he went with me to the
midnight release of OotP (book), and he even signed us up to take a
HP Fan Trip next summer for our fifth anniversary. He's even nice
enough to ask me questions about the HP universe occasionally so I
can just ramble on about it. (He's already agreed to go with me to
the midnight release of HBP as well.)
When my mom found the audio books with Jim Dale, she was hooked
(although she has yet to make the leap to the Internet to support her
habit). My grandparents were very sick last winter and both died
this spring. During that time, my mom had to travel a ton to be with
them every week, and she listened to HP audio books every time. She
said Harry Potter was the only thing that got her through that really
hard part of her life, especially (after they passed away)
sympathizing with Harry's reaction to Sirius' death. I suspect
she'll be there at midnight July 16 to find out how Harry is doing
compared to her own experience. (She has now turned her husband on
to the HP stories, which he reads, watches (the movies), and listens
to on CD!)
I count myself lucky that I'm surrounded by so many HP fans!!
