I have a tenor recorder (it's actually in 3 pieces and
has to be assembled -- it also has metal keys for the
lowest notes).  Unfortunately, I haven't played it in
years, but I'm sure it would reach the low notes.

I agree, this is a beautiful piece, and one of my
favorites on the soundtrack.
