Had the person reporting on your tv show never seen Back to the Future
or the Star Trek:The Voyage Home films?
Curiously,

Yesterday, a T.V. channel in my country broadcasted a movie which made
me to think that J.K.R. might have taken the idea of time travel from
this particular film.
Well, the movie was 'The twelve monkeys'. I have watched a couple of
times before, but I haven't made any considerations before the release
of the P.o.A. movie.
In this film the main character is send to the past in order to prevent
the spread of a lethal virus that forced the sirvivors to live
underground. The character has a memory about a person being murdered in
a airport from the time when he was younger. In the beginning, because
of mistakes, he and his partners end up in wrong dates. Later a
researcher refers to these events as proper historical events. And in
the end, it is proved that the person that he is witnessing being killed
as a boy is himself while he is trying to stop the person who was
responsible for the spread of this particular virus. I wish to point
out that in any other movie, with some recent exeptions, there is no
such things, as far as I know.
Well, what do you think? : -)
