That's not logically sound, David. People can't fear something they 
had never met or imagined. None of the other children had ever 
encountered Voldemort - so they don't know that he is more scary than 
banshies, eyeballs or giant spiders. Had he materialized in class, 
they may very well have found a worse worst fear.
