Welcome to the club! My Hermione just celebrated her first birthday!

Neat! Of course, I have to laugh--I have a pair of female ratties

 the brown black one figured out how to get out
her home within three hours of being put into it--so she got named Hermione
for being so smart....^^;

The shy, white rat (who is just as smart, but a bit more sedate)? I named
her 'Ronnie' ^^

Hello, I'm Sam.

Who else is inflicting HP names on defenseless creatures?

My daughter Hermione is eight months. I expect she'll hate me for it one day and change it, or go out of her way not to be swotty but I like it:) One of the midwives told me she'd not come across a Hermione before, although she had once delivered a Hedwig. (a German name apparently)

Just wondering what other living tributes to JKR's characters there are out there? Somehow I think natural selection intended us to grow out of these things before we started breeding, what was it Hagrid said along the lines of there being freaks in every species?

Sam
