I think you're right -- especially because I noticed that that pen is
static: it is not one of the things (such as the blank half sheet of
paper) that plops down into the picture as you portkey over there. It
certainly *looks* tempting, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it
gained a function later.
Now, my other things:
This morning I visited the site on my laptop, because my regular
computer monitor is quite dark (it's old), and I knew I was missing
details. While I did get a much better view, I also found out a few
little things:
Well, I could have figured this out anyway, but when you enter the
site on a fresh computer, you start over (no cookies, obviously). So,
I guess that means if you use a library or cafe computer, you might
find the scrapbook already full.
On my desktop computer, I could never see the bottom of my scrapbook
pages, because even with the window dragged all the way up, quite a
lot of the bottom was still cut off (if I knew more about my computer,
maybe I could have fixed that). But on my laptop, those windows fit!
Hurray! I finally got to see the Sorting Hat!
As long as I was starting over fresh, I went to the Links page and
tried to drag one of the awards into the box on the top shelf. It was
a no go, they always just flew back to their original spots. I assume
that box will come into play later.
I was bad, and I voted again, this time for a different one!

who did eventually read the "How to open the door" thread and was
pleased to see it was only a back door and nothing's really in it yet...
and who wishes JKR had given a hint on how often she might update...
