Lumos 2006: HPEF Announces a Harry Potter Symposium coming to Las 
Vegas in 2006!

Las Vegas, NV – With a whirl of the wand and a hearty chant 
of "Lumos," HP Education Fanon, Inc. (HPEF) is proud to shed first 
light on its next event!

>From July 27-30, 2006, Las Vegas, Nevada — the muggle's "City of 
Lights" — will play host to Lumos 2006: A Harry Potter Symposium. 
Utilizing a theme of "Back to School", a variety of academic 
presentations and panels is planned, including special workshops for 
educators and librarians. In addition to its scholarly daytime 
programming, an assortment of evening activities, including Water 
Quidditch, Magical Night Classes, and Live Chess will be available 
to symposium attendees. 

This event will mark the third such offering to be sponsored by 
HPEF, a non-profit educational (501(c)3) organization. Other events 
include Nimbus - 2003, which took place in July 2003 in Orlando, 
Florida, and The Witching Hour, which is scheduled for October 2005 
in Salem, Massachusetts.

"Lumos 2006 will offer a fun, educational atmosphere that's 
exclusively Harry Potter," says Debbie McLain, the event's Minister 
of Magic. "From British food all weekend long, to Butterbeer in the 
hotel's Irish pub, attendees will be completely immersed in J.K. 
Rowling's unique, magical universe."

In keeping with the theme, conference planners intend to decorate 
the host hotel to give it a "Hogwarts" feel. There will be house 
tables in the Great Hall, a Common Room for all four houses 
exhibiting school spirit with their house banners, and a library in 
the Art Gallery to browse the latest books about Harry. A diverse 
and enthusiastic team of Harry Potter aficionados has worked 
tirelessly to author the winning bid. Anyone one wishing to join in
