I actually passed my first driving test, but that was only because my own Muggle was a nice woman who could see I was nervous as hell while I was in the car with her (yes, I had a completely Nervous Neville reaction--accidentally turned on the window wipers and everything--and to think, I had driven *to* the station to take my test with no problems...:P...).

Anyway, I would not have passed, except that after my third right turn at a stop sign, she looked at me and said "You know that you're doing 'California Stops', don't you?"

Needless to say, I gave her a blank look. The deal was that I was looking at the intersections long before I got to them. In the foothills of Tucson, a lot of street crossroads and the half mile up to them are easy to see since so many of the stop signs and crossroads are at the bottom of the hills... So by the time I would get to the signs, I already knew nothing was coming. So I would slow down, *almost* stop completely...and then keep going...lol

Fortunately for me, the lady let me get away with it, especially when I rectified it the next few intersections...needless to say, now I stop at every intersection and count to four before I go anywhere, even if I know nothing is coming...lol

And to think--I was afraid of the parallell parking part!

Anyhow, hang in there, Naama--I know that next time you go you'll ace the thing. ;)
