Kudos to you, Dina, for the courage to use a perfectly appropriate 
word that does indeed describe JKR's method with some fans, thereby 
braving the wrath of the PC police.  I wonder if I as a male, could 
do the same.

Anne Rice/Rampling/I forget her third "nom de plume" is not in JKR's 
league.  She lost me as a reader with The Vampire Lestat.  I wonder 
if her interaction with online fandom hurt her later writing.
