Any of the Autism spectrum disorders cover a huge amount of experiences and
diagnosis can be contentious depending on who is doing the diagnosing.
Because there is not 'test' any diagnosis is based on behaviour, which can
be effected by diet, parental raising style, experiences etc etc etc .....
And of course it depends on the specialist you are seeing, what they
specialise in and their interest. In my work I have contact with a number of
families who have children who have been diagnosed with asperser's. It's a
hard row to hoe.
a really great book (fiction) about a young man with asperser's is The
Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon.
