[HPFGU-OTChatter] Tink-Tink-Tink!

Mrs.) Lee Storm (God is the Healing Force n2fgc at arrl.net

Ah--well...being the time of day and all, I think a good cup of iced coffee
is the thing for me just now...or, perhaps, a chocolate malt...Yum! :-)

And as far as the questions, hmm--well...here goes:

Q: * Name(s).

A: Lee Storm, or, more formally, (Mrs.) Lee Storm. Married for almost 20
years and proud of it. :-)

Q: * Provide the etymology of your signature/handle/moniker/email address.
In other words, how and why did you choose the name you use on the HPfGU
lists.

A: Wow! Okay, my e-mail address is my General-Class Amateur Radio callsign
N2FGC.
My sig started out from a friend in church quoting it to my husband who said
it to me, and I fell in love with it and thought it would be a great sig. A
couple years after I had started using it, I was in Maine on vacation and
had gone to The Desert Of Maine's gift shop where I found a little scroll
with that very quote, Author Unknown, and knew it was meant for me. :-)
I've used that sig since 1989.
As far as the addition to my name "God is the healing force," well, I
believe that, especially after a lot of personal experience. :-) (And to
those who may not see God in the same way as I do, I'm sure you do see the
power of the universe.)

Q: * Whose signature/handle/moniker/email address at HPfGU
(a) do you wish you had come up with first?
(b) intrigues you?

Q: I'll answer the (B): Luckdragon, as I loved the movie "The Never-Ending
Story." The music was so cool, and I sat down at my keyboard (now, mind you,
I'm not much of a keyboard player, but with a sequencer I can make a fairly
good sound) and worked out the Palace theme. It was such fun!!

Q: * If you lived in the Potterverse, who would you be, and what would you
do for a living?

A: I think it would have been neat to be Dumbledore's secretary; a nicer
boss couldn't be found. Hmm--maybe I'd go and work for the Quibbler. :-)

Q: * What would you see in the Mirror of Erised?

A: Probably Art and I winning the lottery and hiring a bunch of contractors
to do all the misc repairs on our house, starting a foundation or something
to help abused children with some of the lottery winnings, etc. But for
now, I am content.

Q: * What shape would a boggart take, if you chance upon one?

A: Probably a dog; my experiences with the critters have never been good and
I am much happier if they come no closer than five feet. So, a boggart
would probably have lots of fun with me.

Q: * What happy memory will you rely upon, if you are to conjure up a
Patronus?

A: OOOO! That's a tough one...I have a few! Probably my wedding day.

Q: * What form might your Patronus take?

A: Phoenixes are nice. :-)

Q: * What might your animagus form be?

A: Strangely enough, I've always done well with snakes, so I might become
one pretty easily. :-)

Q: * What gifts would you register for in Diagon Alley? Or would
| it be Knockturn Alley? How about at Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes?

A: I'd see if Flourish And Blots has audible text books (Braille would take
up too much space.) I'd love one of the Headless Hats from Gred and Forge,
:-) and an invisibility cloak would be nice from whoever sells them.
Oh--yes--some of that Darkness powder would be really cool! It would sure
give me the advantage since I don't need light anyway, and could easily slip
away while my sighted attacker is busy blundering about. :-)

Q: * Times being what they are...what is your favorite flavor of
| jam? What is your dearest ambition?

A: Raspberry jam, and to be able to drive a car. :-)

Q: * Which of the HP books is your favorite?

A: I love them all and can only pick a non-favorite (OOTP) because I hated
reading the Umbridge parts. :-)

Q: * Who is your favorite character?

A: Well, probably Albus Dumbledore and Remus Lupin. Tonks sounds like she
would be someone really cool to have as a sister. :-)

Q: * What do you hope will happen in Book 7?

A: That Harry will learn to discipline his mind in order to prevent
ligilimency, that he will find not only the horcruxes but the answers he
needs to complete his own personal puzzle of life, that You-Know-Who will be
thoroughly trounced, and that Snape will die to save Harry.

Q: * What do you think will happen in Book 7?

A: Only JKR knows... :-) But she's gonna have to do some awfully tight
writing to tie up a lot of loose ends.

Q: * Given all the books whose titles are canon (see
http://www.hp-lexicon.org/wizworld/books.html ) which would you read cover
to cover *first*?

A: Probably "The Healer's Helpmate."

Q: * What's in your Scrapbook for JKRowling.com ?

A: Since it's not really accessible to those of us who use screen-readers, I
just use the text version of the site, so no scrap book. :)

Q: * What's your personal best for Expert Level Minesweeper?

A: N/A

Q: * When did you join HPfGU? How did you find us?

A: Hmm--last year in May, I think, and found y'all by an internet search.

Q: * Point us to your delurking post...how was that maiden voyage?

A: All I remember was that it was something about Voldemort and the AK, and
it went well. That was on the main list. I believe I even got a note from
one list elf saying how much she enjoyed my posts. On the OTChat List, I
think it was something about food, but I seriously don't remember.

Q: * Point us to your favorite posts, your own or otherwise.

A: From the main list, there was a short topic on the mechanics of flying a
broomstick and I remember sitting with Art who's a pilot and thoroughly
discussing the matter with him. After this discussion and a couple rounds
of scotch, I posted my take on the flight mechanics...pretty good one. :-)
I think that on the OTChat list, all the fun and interesting exchanges on
the differences between the British and US in words and foods.

Q: * Point us to, in hindsight, what you now wish you'd never said
| [ex.: ships sunken by new can(n)on, being flagged by LOONs...]

A: Can't think of anything.

Q: * Have you been around since August 2000? What were the hot
| topics for you personally five years ago, post-GoF?

A: N/A

Q: * What things about you often come as a surprise to others?

A: Probably that I'm blind. :-) (But that does give me the advantage in the
dark!) :-)

Q: * Things you do when not staring at the computer:

A: I'm the Radio Officer for the Office of Emergency Management in my town
of Madison, NJ, one of the Praise leaders at our church, I help Art with a
lot of his Barbershop Chorus stuff (learning tapes, costumes, etc.), general
domestic stuff, share books with Art, collect way too many things, and just
enjoy my life.

Q: ** Got a question of your own? Ask it here.

A: How do some of the List Elves get their names? Some are truly wonderful!

I might add that I can't take the Scholastic Challenge as it is in
non-readable (for me) flash.

Cheers,

Lee :-)
