zgirnius. I was being real creative, you can all see.
> * Whose signature/handle/moniker/email address at HPfGU
> (a) do you wish you had come up with first?
Oh, too many to list here. So many cool handles, wish I had spent
some time thinking up one of my own. But now I tend to use my spare
time reading all the interesting posts...
> (b) intrigues you?
eggplant.
> * If you lived in the Potterverse, who would you be, and what
> would you do for a living?
I would be a witch and mother, working from home on research in
Arithmancy. (IE, not too different from my Muggle life...)
> * What would you see in the Mirror of Erised?
Myself, my partner, our grown children and their kids having a great
time in a nice vacation spot. (Said kids are both under 3, now...)
>
> * What shape would a boggart take, if you chance upon one?
Hard to say...
> * What happy memory will you rely upon, if you are to conjure

Holding my firstborn for the first time...
> * What form might your Patronus take?
A Canada Goose.
> * What might your animagus form be?
Would have to be a Canada Goose, no?
> * What gifts would you register for in Diagon Alley? Or would
> it be Knockturn Alley? How about at Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes?
Books, definitely. And some nice new robes.
> * Times being what they are...what is your favorite flavor of
> jam? What is your dearest ambition?
Jam: Raspberry.
Ambition:
To write a fantasy novel, maybe, someday. (I read enough of 'em...)
> * Which of the HP books is your favorite?
Would have to say HBP, though I have great hopes for Book 7!
> * Who is your favorite character?
Snape, because he is so wonderfully nasty in person, and so complex.
And Hermione, I relate best to her.
> * What do you hope will happen in Book 7?
I'd like to see some of the more romantic Good!Snape theories
confirmed...sap that I am.
> * What do you think will happen in Book 7?
Harry will destroy the Horcruxes with a little help from his
friends. We will learn why Dumbledore trusted Snape, REALLY.
Voldemort will be defeated. (I am not so sure this will be by Harry
killing him, though. Maybe another character, like Snape. Or maybe a
different value of defeat, not killing. As in, Tom Riddle might still
be alive...)
> * Given all the books whose titles are canon (see
> http://www.hp-lexicon.org/wizworld/books.html ) which would you
> read cover to cover *first*?
Hogwarts, A History.
> * What's in your Scrapbook for JKRowling.com ?
Nothing. Way too hard for me...
>
> * What's your personal best for Expert Level Minesweeper?
Oh, many a misspent hour went into this, but not on my present
computer. Between 4 and 5 minutes, if I recall. 260 or so.
> * When did you join HPfGU? How did you find us?
In early July. Typed Harry Potter into Yahoo's Search.
> * Point us to your delurking post...how was that maiden voyage?
I didn't do much lurking. I don't recall my first post particualrly,
and there have been som many messages since I joined I gave up
hunting it down...
> * Point us to your favorite posts, your own or otherwise.
135892. That was an easy question. An absolutely wonderful essay
about Snape by Severelysigune. I don't agree with everything she
proposes, but it is very well-thought-out and interestingly written.
If you read any "Snape is not ESE" post, you must read this one...
(IMHO)
> * Point us to, in hindsight, what you now wish you'd never said
> [ex.: ships sunken by new can(n)on, being flagged by LOONs...]
Having joined just prior to HBP, I need to wait for Book 7 for this,
I think...
> * What things about you often come as a surprise to others?
That I'm a black belt in Judo.
> * Things you do when not staring at the computer:
Chasing my two little boys, reading. (My job consists mainly of
staring at the computer...)

As I suspected: Ravenclaw.
