Chancie- It's not really cleverness that I owe my name too, it's my
parents. Although few people actually believe it's on my birth certificate
(and yes it is) they always insist that it must be a nickname. I also, for
some
odd reason, have always had a problem with people calling me "Candace,
Chelsea, Chauncey, ..." or any other number of names simply because
they too start with a "C". So just incase anyone was wondering my name is
pronounced.....Chance-E (Oh and side note to cdayr, CDR was my initials
until
I got married.)

I chose my email address chnc1024 at earthlink.net, because
chnc is my name without vowels, and 1024 is my birthday
October 24.

>
> * Whose signature/handle/moniker/email address at HPfGU
> (a) do you wish you had come up with first?
> (b) intrigues you?

I don't know that I wish I had come up with any other name. My
real name is unique enough that I don't generally have problems with
being confused with other people. Although there are alot of names that
I am intrigued by, there are too many to name here.

> * If you lived in the Potterverse, who would you be, and what
> would you do for a living?

I'd be me! As far as what I'd be doing... hmmm... I'd like to have
a job that didn't take away time from my daughter, unfortunately there
are only a limited number of jobs that have that added benefit. I have
always wanted to open up a bakery, but I don't suppose you'd have
much need for that in the WW, since decorating a cake would be
considerably easier with a wand in hand. So perhaps I would
just open a wizard daycare or something, that way I could
stay with my daughter, and she could have other children to
play with.

> * What would you see in the Mirror of Erised?

I know it's kinda corny, but I honestly would simply see my family
having a truly happy life.

> * What shape would a boggart take, if you chance upon one?

As another member said (I believe it was Luckdragon) any member
of my family dead. Especially my daughter, I would be very hurt
and upset with my husband, or my parents deaths, but I think it would
be impossible to recover if Kiley died. (Kiley is my daughters name btw)
I can't imagine anything worse than the death of a child.

> * What happy memory will you rely upon, if you are to conjure
> up a Patronus?

The moment I had Kiley, and knew she was healthy. She had heart
decelerations during labor, and when I finally had her, I wasn't
even allowed to see her, she went straight in the corner where a
heard of pediatric doctors were waiting to work on her. They worked
on her for about 10 mins before she started to cry. There was never
a more beautiful sound.

> * What form might your Patronus take?

Honestly, probably a dog. I'm very Loyal and protective over the one's
I love.

> * What might your animagus form be?

I always assumed until HBP that they were the same, but then
Tonks kinda confused me on how all that works, but still I'll say
a dog again.

> * What gifts would you register for in Diagon Alley? Or would
> it be Knockturn Alley? How about at Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes?

erm... I probably wouldn't go for wands and or robes like many of
the other listers have simply because if I was in Diagon ally I'd probably
already have these things. So I'd say I'd want a Kneazle, an Owl, and
I would definitely love to check out Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, though
what I'd actually buy there, I have no idea.

> * Times being what they are...what is your favorite flavor of
> jam? What is your dearest ambition?

Strawberry Jam defiantly!!! And my dearest ambition, while
on earth is to be a good mother, and for when I die and I stand
before God to hear the words "Well done my good and faithful
servant."

> * Which of the HP books is your favorite?

I don't think any book will replace PoA for me.

> * Who is your favorite character?

Hermione from the Trio, I love Fred and George, they always
make me laugh, and I'm also partial to Lupin, and well of course
I love Harry!

> * What do you hope will happen in Book 7?

That Harry will defeat LV, and Ginny and he will get back together
(although I don't think they are truly "apart" right now anyway,)
Ron and Hermione will make their relationship OFFICIAL. And
that we aren't left with any burning questions when the series ends.

> * What do you think will happen in Book 7?

See above, although I fear that at least a few questions will
remain un answered unfortunately.

> * Given all the books whose titles are canon (see
> http://www.hp-lexicon.org/wizworld/books.html ) which would you
> read cover to cover *first*?

Enchantment in baking.

> * What's in your Scrapbook for JKRowling.com ?
> ( http://www.hp-lexicon.org/about/sources/jkr.com/jkr-com-scrapbook.html )

I have everything.

> * What's your personal best for Expert Level Minesweeper?

I can't make it past intermediate, much less Expert.

> * When did you join HPfGU? How did you find us?

Erm... I think nearly a year ago. I'm not exactly sure. I went
looking for information on when the next book was to be published
and I found this site.

> * Point us to your favorite posts, your own or otherwise.

I always enjoyed Time-Turner posts, they were never answered,
and few ever agreed with my views, but I still found them fun.
As well as all the shipping posts, and arguing that Hermione and
Harry were never and will never fall in love, kiss (in a romantic way)
go on a date or any other thing that could be confused as a move towards
a romantic love relationship!

> * Point us to, in hindsight, what you now wish you'd never said
> [ex.: ships sunken by new can(n)on, being flagged by LOONs...]

I remember one time I was half asleep, and I wrote something about
Kneazles, and Filch and wands. Then I was reminded that Filch was
a Squib! I vowed from that point to never post unless I had at least one
cup of coffee in my system first.

> * What things about you often come as a surprise to others?

Well, I think that many things come from the way I look. I have
a very young face. People usually think that I'm at least 5 or more
years younger than I am. (I'll be 24 in October) and with that
I think that people expect me to be a bit more ditzy and tend to
speak to me in simple terms. Not knowing that my IQ is well
in to the 98% of the public. Also because I'm a nice person
people tend to try and take advantage of me. I'm always the
person some one calls when they need something to talk to
or help, which isn't a bad thing. I love to help and be there
for people. You should see some peoples reactions
when I've had enough and say "NO" its like they cant belive
that I could actually say those words.

> * Things you do when not staring at the computer:

Chasing my 15 month old daughter, cleaning, and cooking.
