Isn't Krypto part of the original mythology, at least? And you know,
I've decided that I kind of liked Isobel. She was fiesty. Also, I'm
pretty sure she could kick Keanu Reeves' ass. Gotta love that in a
girl.
Actually, the crazier it gets, the better I like it. Smallville's all
about escapism for me, really.

Hmmm. Agreed.

You'll get no arguments here. ^_~ I agree with what you said further
down, though. Her character *is* a lot like Chloe . . . and yet,
instead of being irritated by her, I get a kick out of her. I think
the difference must be that Lois is generally acknowledged as being
annoying *within* the show itself, which makes for entertainment,
rather than failed cute-ness.
Also -- C'mon Chloe. Volunteering your own cousin to strip? I have
words for girls like you.
On another note, though . . . As much as I enjoy how much Lois' . . .
err, less admirable traits get on Clark's nerves, I can't help but
agree with him. I'm not sure how the writers are planning to reconcile
her character with the fact she's The One for Clark. I mean, put
yourself in *his* shoes. How do you pick Lois Lane over Lana?
Seriously.

*blinks* You mean they're not real?! *is shocked and disillusioned*

Heh, didn't mean to insult your sanity there. Sorry. Actually, I used
to hate Chloe a lot more than I do now, mostly due to the fact that
I've recently re-watched the entire series with the LOML, and he
*loathes* her. Funnily enough, it's made her a bit more likable for
me.
The thing about Chloe is, that's she's just sort of a horrible person
and a bad friend. She does terrible things, violates other people's
privacy like nobody's business, throws ridiculous temper tantrums
because she seems to be under the impression that she *owns* Clark, and
now she's apparently taken to encouraging Clark to lie to Lana like
it's some kind of game. Ergh. She is *way* less trustworthy than Lex,
IMO, and yet Clark *always* forgives her. Always! How come Lex never
gets that kind of leniency?
But . . . uh, other than all *that*, I don't really mind her so much
anymore. (I swear!) ^_~

It was sad. That's what I meant about Happy!Lex killing me. Because
you just *know* that he's doomed -- even if you didn't know anything
about the Superman story at all, you can just *tell* -- but you can't
help but hope for him. He's an inherently good person, I think --
maybe even better than Clark, but his experiences have completely
killed that potential. *sigh* It's incredibly depressing, especially
when an episode like 'Lexmas' spells it out in living color.
Thanks for sharing the quote, by the way. It was interesting.

*g* Okay, you've sold me. I guess the reason I wasn't terribly
thrilled with the idea of Lex/Lana . . . What does the fandom call
them? Lexana? How come we don't do that so much in HP? Hermiron.
Huh. Anyway, the reason I wasn't so on-board with it was because, as
much as I don't hate Lana, I think there's a limit to how many of your
male leads should fall for your female lead, no matter how wonderful
she may be. But you're right . . . there's a definite edge there, what
with their secret-keeping from Clark and his role as her mentor. And
after Lexmas, I challenge anyone who says MR and KK don't have
chemistry.
Laura (who has decided to skip the Smallville fandom altogether, and
who has instead been getting her Smallville banter from somewhat
unwilling sources, such as the LOHL and her roommates.)
