The scenes that really get me are when he's in the Leaky Cauldron
with Fudge and Tom is trying to tempt him with food offerings - it's
like he's only got one way to say "no thankyou"
Then, when he's trying to get Buckbeak away from Hagrid's hut and
he's going.. "ok buckbeak? C'mon Buckbeak Ok? OK? OK?" ARGH!!!
Is that his lack of experience?
But then sometimes I really warm to him, on the Knight Bus, when he's
angry or being comic...he's got some acting talent, and it IS
improving...I think he's definitely growing with Harry, and he has
the angst off to a tee.
Rupert is definitely the most natural of the child stars, it'll be
interesting to see their interaction as Ron gets annoyed and jealous
of all the attention Harry receives in GoF - so far he's been like
the comic foil, the Rodney to Harry's Del boy, the Morecambe to
Harry's Wise, the Joey to Harry's Ross (trying desperately to think
of a US equivalent to Morecambe and Wise!!).
I know I'd be no actor, and it must be hard, Daniel IS Harry Potter
now, and he's had to grow up and have all his mistakes in the
limelight. I do enjoy the films, but sometimes they just make me
cringe and wonder why they didn't go back and re-do some of it.
