I had a good chuckle over this question. I work for a city 
government and we used to have receptionists, secretaries, clerk 
typists etc. who did separate things, but they phased that out and 
added the receptionist duties to the clerks, typist clerks or 
secretaries' jobs. Now they (they being our Civil Service 
Department) have looked at the "clerical group" and did surveys and 
such and now we are all being classified as Office Assistants! Lucky 
me got the grand title of Office Assistant II. Now I can do two 
things instead of one!
