Yes. I was about 43, when I read the first HP book. in fact, I hadn't even
heard of them. Then a friend of mine got the audio book and asked me to
read it with him. What? A book called Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's
stone? Why would I want to read such a thing? A friend of his who was a
school librarian had strongly recommended it. I decided to try it. Well, I
was the one who got hooked, and I was hooked from the very first paragraph.
Enjoy the addiction. They do seem to get under your skin!

Subject: [HPFGU-OTChatter] Intro and Inquiry
Hello HPfGU members! My name is Sabrina and I live sunny Orlando, I
am a fairly new HP fan. I got into the stories this past
Thanksgiving, when my 15 year old cousin asked for POA Dvd as a
birthday gift. She of course is a huge fan of the HP stories, and
convinced me to read the first book to see that its not a "kiddy"
book. She knew I liked adventure/fantasy stories..eg. Lord of the
Rings. After reading the first book, I moved on to the second...then
watched the first two films, before moving on to the third book,
which I finished around Christmas. I recently saw the POA movie, and
have started the fourth book (almost half way through already, I just
can't put it down!) Needless to say, I find myself anticipating the
fourth film and reading the other books. My profile name
(weasleywellwisher) is based on the fact that I immediately fell in
love with the Weasley family in the books, as well as the films. I
think the way JKR has given character, personality, and support to
these characters is (as my fave Ron would say)....Wicked! My inquiry
to you all is....was anyone (over 18) reluctant about reading what is
known as a "childrens" book?
