Barb now:

Welcome Sabrina! I'm Barb, and I live in the not-so-sunny-right-now,
but darned cold Minnesota. I have been reading HP for several years.
I had no interest in reading HP when it came out. When a number of
my adult friends would talk about how much they loved it, I wouldn't
say anything, but I would think "what are you talking about? It's a
KIDS book!" After my dad (a minister, BTW) started talking about how
much he liked the books and my sister (in seminary) was talking
about them, I thought I would give SS/PS a try, so I bought it in
paperback. Read it in 2 days. Same thing with book 2 and 3. I was
actually late to work a couple of times because I wanted to get in
a "couple of pages" before I left for work. A couple of pages would
turn into a couple of chapters! By the time book 4 came out, I pre-
ordered it, anticipated it for months, and read it in 3 days. I've
read each book dozens of times. Maybe 6 months or so ago I found the
HPfGU lists, and finally I have something to tide me over until July
(although I rarely post)!

So yes, I was very reluctant to read a "children's series" before I
read them, but now I'm a fully-fledged HP junkie!
