hi Joe well let me first Clarify something the Tapes I am talking about are
2 track tapes Talking books come on 4 track tapes. and now another point.
anything lasts longer if you take really good care of it. for instance I
have a lot of books on standard 2 track tape and they are in very good
condition I don't listen to them that much so that might be one reason why
that is. I have a few books on CD as well now I to agree with you that a CD
sounds a lot clearer in sound and also that it might be a bit more easier to
navigate but really I find that real drawback to CD's is that they don't
seem to last as long as tapes now the reason I say that is because they are
really fragile I mean if they get a little scratch on them they start
skipping and a bit of dust can also do that to them as well. Now I am not
saying that I don't take as much care of my CD's as I do of my tapes because
I most sertenley do I have all my CD's in there cases with Braille labels on
them the cases to know what they are. but what I am saying is that The worst
thing that could happen to tapes is that they can get stuck in the tape
player and have to be rold back on the real but other then that I really
don't think that tapes are that bad be cides if you stop a CD then you have
to go through all the tracks again to find your place with a tape you don't
have to do that. basically what it comes down to is personal choice and also
the fact that there are prowes and cons to both CD's and Tapes and besides
like I said be for I find that books on CD take up much more CD's then
books on tape case in point I have both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings
on both Tape and CD. Let's compare the 2 The Hobbit on CD it is 10 CD's on
tape it is 7 tapes the Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring on Tape
it is 12 Tapes on CD it is 16 CD's the 2 Towers on tape it is 10 Tapes and
on CD it is 14 CD's and finely The Return of The King on CD it is 16 CD's on
tape it is 11 tapes. I think you see my point. thanks for listening. from
