If your outer walls are brick or stone, or some other porous material, try soaking 
them down with a hose.  The water that soaks in then evaporates, dropping the 
temperature inside by a remarkable degree.  When the walls look dry again outside, 
hose them down again.  :-)  It even works on hot nights.  Just be sure to close your 
windows while you're spraying the walls!  ;-)
