Sorry to reply to my own message, and sorry if this
post doesn't really belong here, but I've just
realised that, subconsciously, I 'sort' all people I
know in houses! Only two minutes ago I've caught
myself thinking about a new workmate and his
loyalties, and telling myself spontaneously: 'Well,
he'll be a Ravenclaw really, not a Gryffindor - this
explains a lot'. It is great to see the world like
this because it helps not to expect too much of
anybody and become disappointed; we all have
limitations, and nothing can be hidden from the
Sorting Hat. Does anybody else have similar
experiences? And, well, yes, I suppose it does count
as a sign of being obsessed with HP.
Also, I cannot find the post in which somebody
proposed that Hagrid's role as the Keeper of the Keys
will have more significance in later books. I would
really, really fancy the idea of the Sorting Hat
retiring and Hagrid's spirit somehow taking his place.
We have seen many hints of Hagrid not only being pure
at heart but also quite perceptive about people.
What do you think? Grawp for the sorting, anybody?
