Wardrobe in Resident Evil: Apocalypse

I'm currently watching Resident Evil and wondering how Alice manages
to keep the lower leg portion of her trousers from falling around her
ankle when it looks like it's completely severed from the rest of her
trousers at the knee area.

Also, gotta grin over hoping this 'trained' military chick, Jill (?),
doesn't get killed because she provides 'eye candy' as she's fighting
zombies in a tube top and short shorts. {g}
