Bad News From London

Well I've just watched the joint emergency services news conference
and the latest is 33 dead plus the dead from the bus. As I
understand it they can't tell how many bodies there are there, which
is not surprising seeing pictures of it.

I've only got one friend now who still works in London (most of us
have moved out over the years) and she travels via Victoria Station
so though she's very likely stuck there, she should at least be
unharmed.

I lived in central London when the IRA were causing chaos on an
almost daily basis where we were continually being either evacuated
out of, or herded to the back of the building I worked in and once
when a car blew up on the next corner from ours. It sounds stupid
but you become used to it after a while. It's been a few years now
since that's been going on though so this has come somewhat out of
the blue, particulary after the wave of euphoria that swept through
the country yesterday.

All you can do is pray for the victims and their families and carry
on as normal, because if you change your way of life that's when
terrorists win.
