What will you be doing?

My 6-year-old daughter and I will go to the HP party at our Borders
bookstore (which has been completely redecorated with HP-styled signs,
etc) and get our preordered copy at midnight.  Or I will at least;
it's a little late for her, but they're having lots of fun activities
for the kids. My husband has promised to take the kids to the beach
on Saturday so I can immerse myself in HBP. So I don't plan to stay
up all night... I like the idea of just reading the chapter titles
(and maybe jacket sleeve.... maybe chapter one, I am dying to read
this famous first chapter....), then sleeping on it. POssibly
literally. I can't see anyone prying that book out of my hands, even
in my sleep, until I'm done.

When OOP came out I had a newborn baby and spent several days carrying
the baby in one hand and "the tome" in the other, propping it up on a
nursing pillow, etc. Worked just fine, but I'm really looking forward
to having some uninterrupted quality time with HBP.

My foolish bookclub went and scheduled a meeting this Thursday... and
it isn't even remotely HP-related. How can I read this other book
when I need to re-read GOF and OOP in preparation? Humpf.
