Harry, Harry everywhere...

After I dropped my son off at nursery this morning I turned the
radio on in the car for the rest of my drive to work and caught the
back end of the news. I was only really half listening but the news
reader was talking about an old lady who heard noises from upstairs
so called the police to come and deal with an intruder and when the
two policewomen got there and went upstairs to investigate they
discovered a rather disgruntled badger who had apparently wandered
in, gone upstairs and then forgotten where the exit was! He (the
news reader, not the badger!) then proceeded to say (and my
attention immediately snapped to) "Of course the badger is the
emblem of Hufflepuff House at Hogwarts" whereupon you could hear
other people in the studio all groaning and saying things like "Not
again" etc! It made my morning.

At lunchtime as many as possible of the staff at the hospital where
I work all went and stood outside for the 2 minutes silence, which
was very moving. Then I came home.

On the ITV teletext news page (for anyone in the UK who wants to see
this with their own eyes) there is an article about a school in
Leicester which had planned a Harry Potter Day for tomorrow, where
the children were going to go in dressed up and they were going to
do Magical Maths and Spelling and stuff but it has been cancelled
due to worries about it leading children to 'evil'. I really could
not believe my eyes. Do these people actually READ the books before
they start pontificating (pun unintentional but apparently apt)?

Anyway only 1 day to go and as I'm away tomorrow this will probably
be my last post pre-HBP so happy reading and listening everybody
and 'see' you on 'the other side'!!

Karen
