Hi All,
Shaun added:
>>> Age range - any. <<<
Then do consider (as others have suggested) adult books that are enjoyed
by children, e.g. "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime" by
Mark Haddon. This proved so popular among kids that the publishers
released a special version without the naughty 'f' word and the naughty
'c' word.
My twelve year old daughter currently loves the Louise Rennison
"Confessions of Georgia Nicolson" books like:
"Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging";
"Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants";
"Then He Ate My Boy Entrancers"; &
"Knocked Out by My Nunga-Nungas".
They have really funny glossaries.
As to poetry, I agree Shel Siverstone is great for the younger kids. For
the older ones try "The Rattle Bag : An Anthology of Poetry" by Ted
Hughes and Seamus Heaney.

Was "Because of Winn Dixie" by Kate DiCamillo on your list? It's a good
one.
Cheers,
Dumbledad.
