No, Ringo is not a virus.  It might flag a caution in  Norton due to
the transfer of personal information.  It is a global, central
collection point for information you wish to provide.  If you change
your e-mail address or mailing address, for example, it will
automatically update the address books of any contacts that also use
the Ringo service.

Interestingly, there are other similar services (names escape me) that
send out nearly identical message requests.

It's an interesting concept, but I don't completely trust centralized
lists that maintain often confidential information.
