Hi Sarah - we are kindred spirits, I do believe! I love to dive into a magical
world within a book and find myself somewhere which can really take me
over, and if I could recommend anything to you I'd love it if you read the
following two:
The Odessa Stone, and the sister book, The Guardian Of Time. I love them
both. The first is about Linda, a girl who is obviously heading for a nervous
breakdown, stumbling through life not coping with her 'special gifts'. It takes a
visit to Odessa to make her realise who she is, and what is in her heart. She
is led through a very dark and sinister adventure by Avalon, a vulnerable fairy
who you'll start seeing everywhere (I'm not joking, and I'm not entirely mad)
and her nemesis, the deliciously evil Morrha - a spirit who has designs on
Linda and the stone. It's a fabulous book and I loved it - and I've read it three
times, and rarely stop waffling here about it! All Linda's weaknesses become
her strengths, and I can't tell you how good it made me feel. I could identify
with her a lot. The book made me laugh, cry my eyes out (Linda goes back in
time to stop her mum dying in an accident, and when she actually meets her..
pass the tissues!) and love both the lead characters.

The other one is a huge time-travelling escapade, with a big dollop of first
love. Imagine everything that Order Of The Phoenix failed to deliver, and
you've got this! I don't always enjoy following yet another male-lead in a story,
but there are so many female characters in this who could ALL carry a story
on their own that I really got into it. There's loads of reviews on amazon.co.uk
so I won't send you to sleep writing everything here, but do take a look
because if you get into them, you'll love them. I did! Aunt Agatha is a
40-something dashing woman, who is everything I would want to be at that
age! Cool, sensual, classy, self-assured, and scares men to pieces!

Sandra (brushing up on her Flapper Talk skills, just in case.)
