You have EXCELLENT eyesight, Entropy!  

Oh, my.  Another intriguing possibility here.  With "Gilderoy" 
perhaps translated as "golden king" or "gilded king" [is that 
right?], then maybe the Potions author is the HBP?

Or is the reference to "Borage" supposed to be the key -- a typical 
JKR joke on Potions being ennui-inducing and dealing with Snape being 
depressing for Harry?
