the HBP Adult cover, and a 500x of the Author's name.

It doesn't look like 'Gilderoy', it looks more like 'Gib...n', so
perhaps it could be Gibran or Gibeon or perhaps Gibalon or something
 close to that. <<

I have looked at many of the pictures of the book cover and I believe
that the author's name is Libalius Borage. I did a search for the word
Borage and I got this: Borage (Borago officinalis). The bright blue,
star-shaped flowers (which bloom most of the summer) make borage one
of the prettiest herb plants. It is a native of northern Europe, and
grows well in the temperate regions of North America. It has both
culinary and medicinal uses. Some people believe that the name is
derived from "barrach", a Celtic word meaning "a man of courage."
According to some, Borage was the famous Nepenthe of Homer, which when
drunk steeped in wine, brought absolute forgetfulness. Owing to the
presence of nitrate of potash when burnt, it will emit sparks with a
slight explosive sound.
I also looked up Libalius but didn't find anything. I think Jo just
made up that name.
I hope that this helps.
