I've had Earthlink DSL for a few years (and been overcharged IMO at
$50+/month). Nowadays, there's Verizon at $30/month (if you stick
with them for a year) and SBC Yahoo at less than $30/month in certain
US states. I've noticed, even with the 'filters' in place, one phone
jack became 'unstable'.
Anyway, when I switched to Earthlink cable internet (ironically, it's
cheaper at $45/month), I'm now getting static on my cable TV. Guh!
If it's not the lousy DSL line (weather must be fairly perfect for the
internet connection), it's the cable line now making me wonder if I'm
recording shoddy material. I had upgraded to both cable internet and
a DVR (Brighthouse's wannabe Tivo) box at the same time. I thought
it'd be kinda cool to have ABC's 'uncut' {snort} HP:SS movie recorded
on the box (installed last Friday)... but I really think the video
quality is degraded.
Dina,
who works two suites down from a Verizon and still forgets to cancel
DSL service on her phone line
