Lemon slashes and The Burrow

Hi guys,
Just returned from a few days away and computerless with my parents - 
was my dad's 60th birthday ... I spent whole time driving round the 
countryside looking at houses and comparing them to The Burrow ... 
they live in very flat fenland and so there were no decent valleys 
and hills to play quidditch in without being seen ... sad I know 
(hubby agrees)
Anyway, when I first became part of the Harry Potter universe and 
started using my PC to locate everything I could, I had no idea what 
Slash meant ... some vague feeling that it was similar to snuff!!!!
Well, you can see just how naive I am!!
But I quite like some of it, there's so much depth and feeling to it 
that even as a heterosexual married female I enjoy it.  If its good, 
then you tend to forget what sex the protagonists are - its just good 
fiction.  I hope that doesn't offend anyone, but thats just my take.  
I think slash is an OK word for it - I'd just get terribly confused 
if it changed.  Someone mentioned lemons, I have read a few lemons 
too.  But in Brit speak a lemon is a duff, a piece of rubbish (best 
example, you buy a car that conks out on the way home, or has so many 
things wrong with it, its worth more as scrap - that car is a lemon.)
So perhaps that's not such a good word to use.
