Speaking as a Hoosier, I can confirm that we are peculiar in this way 
(if not in several ways!).  

I HATE not having daylight savings time.  Not to mention the fact that 
*portions* of our state do shift with states around us.  So if you 
live up near Chicago, your clocks may well change, but if you're 
talking to a friend in Indy, s/he won't have had the clock change.  
It's insane.  There are even cities where different offices within the 
city [read: federal gov't. workers or state gov't. workers] are on 
different times from the rest of the city!

Hoosiers can be very contrary people.  Legislation has been introduced 
to have us do Daylight Savings Time, but they can't even agree on 
whether we'd go with the East Coast or go with Chicago.
