>> catkind: It's a cunning evil trick isn't it? They make the first
version even worse than it has to be so that we're all relieved when
it goes back to "just" having really annoying formatting that takes
up far too much space. <<

Mindy:

I think the trick is even more cunning than that. I was initially
overjoyed that the "previous" and "next" buttons again functioned by
taking one to the previous or next post. However, this only happens
when the messages are read one at a time.

I loathe reading messages one at a time. Yahoo, of course, has to
make money. Thus, every 5th or so message a full page ad appears
instead of the message. So, I always read in expanded form. No
ads. Well, less ads.

While the single view message format has changed to make the "next"
button take one to the next message, the expanded view format is
still lousy. Now, the 20 or so messages on the screen start at the
top with the newest and scroll down to the oldest. This means in
order to read the messages in order, one has to scroll from bottom to
top. This is utterly ridiculous. Much teeth grinding has ensued.

I have come to the conclusion that Yahoo!mort is trying to, ahem,
persuade its users to avoid the one option that allowed them to
bypass most of the ads. Yes, that is it. It is all a giant ploy to
get me to view more ads. Curse them.

Mindy
