I'm not sure if this post was serious (100 house-elves?  Harry Potter 
Week?), but I am touched by the general optimism on this list that we 
will get a book next year.

As I recall, JKR has said that it will be hard for her to give up HP, 
and that the last book will be longest (mind, this was back before OOP 
expanded so much, IIRC) so I would not be in the least surprised if 
it's not published until 2008.  I predict a Madam Pince moment lasting 
about 6 months during which the book will be essentially finished but 
JKR will not want to hand it over on the excuse that those last tweaks 
are not quite sorted out in her mind.

Movie dates are IMO irrelevant since neither the publishers nor WB are 
likely to step aside for one another in the scramble for cash.
