Let me make sure I understand what you are saying. Are you
saying you were completely blocked from the Internet, or
that you specifically couldn't get into Yahoo but you could
access to the Internet in all other way?
Could you get email?
Could you get to Google? etc....

Also, you mention having Norton, but not 'Norton /what/';
Norton Anti-Virus, Norton Firewall, etc...?

Norton is VERY particular about installing with all
unnecessary programs CLOSED. This is especially true
if you had some other firewall or antivirus installed
and running while you installed Norton.

You must close every application, and specifically all
the applications running in the System Tray on the lower
right-hand side of your computer screen. Many Instant
Messengers can be closed by right clicking and simply
selecting 'Exit' or 'Close'. Others are harder to truly
close. To get to them, you must go to [Start][Run] and
enter MSCONFIG. Msconfig, will give you a list of
start-up programs, you must close all non-essential
start-up programs then reboot your computer. More than
any other program I've seen, this is critical with Norton.

Also, you didn't mention what other inter-related software
you might be running. Do you have a firewall? Typically
firewalls will block programs from getting into or out
of your computer, but they will not block specific
websites. Is it possible that your browser's Parental
Controls are set and are blocking Yahoo? An anti-virus
program, will usually deal with specific files rather than
websites or running programs (unless the program is a
virus), so it is unlikely that the anti-virus is blocking
Yahoo.

There are tech support sights on the Web that are run by
users and volunteers, I frequently find the people there
to be more patient and knowledgable than 'official' tech
support.

One of my favorites is -

If you can form a clear or moderately clear question,
you will probably get an answer to your problem. It's
best to tell them the nature of the problem, the steps
you've already taken to solve it, what software you have
running, and a general description of your hardware.

You can read without registering, but it you want to post
or respond, you have to register. In the many many years I
have been a member, I have NEVER gotten SPAM from the
because I gave them my email address (required for
registering). The only thing I get are notices when
someone has responded to my question or to a thread I
am tracking.

Just passing it along.
