they're different and so you can't compare. Both are great stories
and both include magic - so the difference would be what? Even
Chronicles of Narnia falls into the same category and its
allegorical meaning is well-known.

Marty, exactly! They tell me it's okay to read Tolkein and Narnia,
but not HP! Seems slightly hypocritical to me. Then they tell me
they haven't read HP and that's when I get really annoyed. How can
you comment on something that you have not read? How do they even
know what is in the books? They don't. They are going on hearsay,
which frustrates me. I just keep my mouth shut about my obsession
and share it only with my children. One funny thing that happened,
my Mother in Law, when she found out we were going to see GoF for
about the 5th time, said, "Well. I suppose I'll have to be the one
to take them to see Narnia." That was a dig if I ever heard one!
In other words, "I'll be the GOOD influence, while you are the BAD
one." Ugh.
Lee, no, I haven't heard of Willow. Is it a book? I remember the
movie "Willow." Are they one in the same?
Thanks for letting me vent, all.
