[Bumbledor]:
| humm... never thought of it that way.. well, we learn new
| things everyday,
| don't we? Going to have to remember that one.
[Lee]:
<Grinning> Well, life's about learning, ain't it? That's what makes it
fun.
Okay, granted, things may get a bit lost when blind folk are watching movies
and TV; we rely heavily on dialog, good soundtrack (emphasis on "good," as
in the beautifully constructed music of greats like John Williams and Jerry
Goldsmith, etc.), and, if we're lucky, good descriptions. Of course, if
that last is not available, then it's up to our brains to fill in the gaps
through the dialog and music. Like I said, seeing is an art. <Smile.>
I still can't watch "Somewhere In Time" without crying...and that Stargate
DVD...well, I just happened to watch two of my mostest favorite eps that
always do me in, and I had Art describing stuff for me last night for the
first time while watching them...and I was done in even more. <Lee grabs the
sniffle rags.>
Hey, hope all this rambling helps. Asking questions is good; very good. :-)
How about all the sighted people on the list throw in a copy of SS and close
your eyes and go through it...no cheating! <Evil Grin> It would be
interesting to hear your impressions of the movie "seeing" without eyes. I
pick SS because it has the most dialog and is the easiest to follow.
Happy seeing, y'all; I'm back to the basement to finish up a Barbershop
learning tape for Art which, IMHO, is gonna be a nightmare because of
some--uh--sloppiness on the original recordings. <Head-ouch!>
Smiles, and keep your eyes closed. <BEG>
Lee :-)
