doddie here:
well, why didn't you say so to begin with!??

here would be my advice to you...(sorry don't know your coloring so
you need to adjust the coloring to suit your style)

1. need a white palate---but not necesarily so...just a clean blank
one and add color on...

for example...look at makeup colors first..(eyeliner comes in many
different colors---escpecially red)...hence layer on red===red
lips/eyes(if not eye shadow then blush), blush too dark of
red...clothes tootoo red..(wash your regular black jeans with a
tablespoon of red dye in the wash)...
If you are speaking about "goth mythic" in general....then it's a
facination/preoccupation of the "after life" (hence life beyond the
veil)...everythings a little darker, a little dirtier...my daughter
had a therapist that always used to talk about how she smoked and
never used an ash tray, but her jeans...she flicked the ash on her
pants and rubbed it in..*shudder* (and yes we didn't go back after
that--seeing as she reccomened that to my daughter, but I did
remember that when making my kids Halloween costumes!)

At the very least, put on as much makeup as you can for several
days, no make up remover...just keep adding....and watch the cake
commence...

Same goes with clothes....go to the good will, the goofier clothes
the better(if you make them black), the cheaper ones too--give them
a dye wash/ash job..

as for piercings....there are still plenty of magnetic "rings" (ear
and otherwise" out there..

Also, too big/huge/loud false eyelashes can work wonders too....
(think tragic funeral on an acid trip--but not an acid trip anywhere
else))

Doddie,
(who wonders if you bring a gothic date while wearing some retro
clothing with some sort of embarassing stain on with a couple of
embarassing magnetic "piercings" after having a good cry with what
ever makeup you want to wear may make a better impression..LOL)
