*gasp* Perils of fan fiction archiving

I don't ask for money or donations to pay for a fan fiction archive's
webhosting... but OMG, I got webhost notification I exceeded bandwidth
by 40gigs (my allocation is 20gigs)... and then I went back through
the site's bandwidth history, and for over a year and a half, the site
has been exceeding bandwidth by 20-45gigs. Uh oh. I had gotten
notification in 2004 for bandwidth but I upgraded to 20gigs that year
and the notifications stopped. I thought the site was small, which by
other archives it is, but my webhost charges $2/extra gig. Uh oh!
That's like $80-90 more than my usual monthly $18.

{sigh} Time to go looking for a new webhost. I already 'bartered' for
the extra bandwidth by giving up 500megs of my space to take the
bandwidth allocation up to 20gigs. I remembered trying to barter for
more bandwidth but the UK host (a highly recommended webhost but price
also reflects this) couldn't do it. I'm only using 150megs in space
now. So, I'm estimating 250megs space and at least 75gigs bandwidth
for the new host. I've got a host in mind but it's the relocation
part that's a pain in the butt.

Ugh!

For a 'small' archive (~3,000 fics), it's turning into a costly bugger.
